Default Quiet Muffler for 5th Gen?

Sup. I want to change my stock muffler cuz it looks old and ugly. I have a 99' prelude by the way. I want to get something thats not too loud cuz my wife is having a baby pretty soon. all my pipings are stock. i want to get a muffler that looks close to stock so dual tips would be sick. anyone have any suggestions?

what do you guys think about the brand "powertech"? are they any good?
has anyone tried using magnaflow mufflers?
i was thinking of flowmaster since i heard that they are pretty quiet. Which series should i get and which muffler would fit my car?

i want a muffler that's not much louder than stock since an AEM cold air intake is sorta loud enough.thanks.

Magnaflow Oval Dual Tip mufflers are good and has a stock look. I had one in my 99' Lude a while back. They have a good low deep tone and not raspy at all. If you want it to look even more stock looking, paint the oval part with High-Temp black paint and leave the chrome tips how they are.

How was your magnaflow muffler man? im planning to get a dual tip magnaflow muffler off of ebay for a good price. How did it sound? i really want to get a muffler that isn't too loud compared to the stock muffler so i wont be able to hear much noise when im driving the car.

A straight through can like a magnaflow will be very obvious when you're driving around.

Yeah, Magnaflow sounds good. However, it WILL be noticable driving around. I had one on my old 3rd Gen 'Lude.

Never tried a twin-loop yet, but the Greddy SP Exhaust was fairly quiet, but after a couple years, it was HORRIBLE.

Magnaflow was loud on my setup as well.

I'm curious if anyone has tried a OEM-like restrictive exhaust, but maybe try to balance it out by going with a 2.75" OEM-type muffler. Maybe it will keep it quiet enough, but not too restrictive.

The Magnaflow Dual tip that I had was a little noticable when cruisin but not that loud. It's more low deep than loud. That was the first muffler I put on my stock 5th gen back then. I had a stock cat, stock resonator, stock piping. I liked it alot cause of the low deep sound it had. So if you have all of the stock piping, stock cat and resonator, it should'nt be too loud. Just a nice low deep tone.

Just go w/ OEM stock mufflers. You're using your stock pipes, and it would be an easy in/out swap. I'm sure you can find a few deals via eBay, or some Honda wholesale firm. I feel where you're coming from with having a baby on the way (our baby is coming this April), and so it would be ideal to go OEM. Secondly, are you planning to keep your Prelude when the baby arrives? If not, consider the possibility to sell your car lookin as original as possible, as oppose to some '3rd party' custom work. I hardly doubt the wife will want to get the baby in/out from the back seat as often... in the long run. FYI!

I had both the Kakimoto racing exhaust and the Tanabe G-Power Medallion and they are both not too loud. Definitely can hear the exhaust but not a menace to society.
