Header for 97 Cx, how do I prevent CEL?
I am wanting to get a header and eliminate the stock converter, how do I prevent the CEL from occuring with the second 02 sensor not measuring metered air?
Or if I just gut the cat would that cause a CEL?

ur not gonna avoid the light if you get rid of the converter. might be able to get an o2 simulator. believe it of not, u actaully lose a couple hp by gutting the cat. tested this on the dyno in my street legal class on a few cars at the college i went to. i have a 98 cx that i just used the exhaust off of an ex coupe
Main this I'm trying to get rid of my stock cracked header/cat on a budget. Even using the coupe manifold I'll have to get a cat and then run a complete custom exhaust won't I?
why not just buy an ebay header? i had an ebay header on my very first car *d16y7* two o2 bungs no cat needed and it was super cheap
No CEL due to not reading properly metered air from the second 02 sensor like I've seen some posts about?

It was alittle over 2years of daily driving, no cels for o2. maybe i was lucky?

Well, I guess I'll go this method then. Just so long as I can get the car inspected with no worries I'll be happy for right now.
Thanks
