Default 94 accord questions?

hello ALL, im new to this forum and im also new to HONDA performance. i know how to work on engines but id rather get some information on the car im soon to get from people with experience in hondas. im currently on another forum clubtitan.org i love nissan titans, i know alot about them and performance for them. but heres the deal. my moms husband has a 1994 honda acoord dx 2door, its manual, it looks blue but its green. its droped, it has dc sports headers, cold air intake, and not sure what exhaust but it has exhaust. the car has 130k miles but runs like a CHAMP! he let me drive it a couple times this week. i also did a valve cover gasket change on it for him. he wants 3k for the car. im definetly going to buy it. its a 4cyl. but one of my questions is, how long can or do most honda engines last? i have a heavy foot, 130k miles think it will last long? im gonna get a hondata ecu the s200, but what else can i do to this f22 engine to make it faster? do these engines haev alot of potential? and if the engine does go out, wat bigger engine will fit perfectly WITHOUT modifications? sorry for this long thread but i need to learn so i can know what im dealing with and wat i can do to make it fast, and reliable. everything works on the car even the a/c. well thanks for the help, i really apreciate it

With proper maintenance you should be able to get another 130k out of that car with no trouble. Being that it has 130k on it, has the timing belt been changed? If not you may want to take the money you were going to use for the s200 and spend it on that, trust me its a much better investment, especially considering it only has basic bolt ons. As far as potential goes, honestly not really much without investing some serious time and money. For information about swaps go to the FAQ at the top of the page, it will give you all the information you need.

For starters, I saw you're 16.

First make sure the car is just running in tip top condition as is. It certainly won't hurt you to have the transmission fluid changed, the oil changed, new dizzy, new spark plugs, new wires, new air filter, etc. And make sure it's running in awesome condition.

Second, from experience, you do not want to have a "fast car if i need to use the speed" believe me, it's not good - regardless of the experience you think/know you have.

Thirdly, turbo kits for the most part are garbage, you would be much better off doing research (Forced Induction Forum) and reading up on the best brands for each part.

Fourth, I wouldn't worry about a turbo kit just yet. Work on little stuff, ie if the suspension isn't awesome, sell what you have and get better stuff - etc.

And lastly, do a lot more research as 99% of your questions you've asked have been covered - most linked in the Accord FAQ.
