budget brake upgrade
how sit going ppl. i have a 1992 civic hatch DX i would like to upgrade teh front brakes.is tehre any other honda/acura i can take the caliper bracket ,rotors and pads fropm thats wil bolt up to my civc?i know the rear disc from teh integra fits so maybe the fornt wil work aswell? thanks
I believe the 92-95 Civic EX/SI has larger front brakes, the same as the Integra. Some Civic EXs actually came with front and rear disk brakes stock. I generally see it more on 4 door EXs but my 2nd Civic 2 door EX came stock with all wheel disk brakes. It's kind of wierd but I only see them on the Teal green looking Civics. You can also get the brakes off a Civic SI hatch, or any of the 94-01 tegs.
i saw a 94 ex 4 door today so i took a peak and it did have rear disc. i dont know if teh disc on the civic is any smnaller than the integra tho.
They should be the same rear disks on all civic/integras made through 2000 (for civics, and whenever the integras stopped production). Only the type R's have larger rears..

'92-95 Civic EX or Civic w/ABS, or '94-01 Integra will work for your application. Just pull the complete steering knuckles with hubs, calipers, and lines attached.
You will want to upsize your master cylinder as well when upsizing the front caliper pistons. If using Civic EX or Integra brakes, you'll want a 15/16" unit. The best option for your '92 DX is a '90-91 Civic 4dr EX master cylinder, which will bolt right up to your stock booster and lines with no modifications.

This is only partially true. The '92-95 Civic Si hatchback actually had the same small 9.5" front rotors and unmarked calipers found on the CX/DX/VX, except for the 1994 Si-ABS model which had the larger 10.3" front rotors with 17CL14VN calipers (same as Integra).
The '92-95 4dr EX, '94-95 2dr EX-ABS, and the '94-95 4dr LX-ABS had the same brakes as the Integra, but the '93-95 2dr EX (non-ABS) had different front calipers (16CL14VN) with the 10.3" front rotors and used drums in the rear.

All '92-95 Civics with ABS had rear discs. The Si 3dr without ABS also had rear discs.
The '92-95 Civic EX 4dr had ABS standard, and in '94-95, the EX 2dr had optional ABS.

As I mentioned, most Si 3dr models did not have the larger fronts. Only the '94 Si-ABS had the larger front brakes.

They are exactly the same - 10.3" vented front rotors with Nissin 17CL14VN calipers, and 9.4" solid rear discs with 7CLP13S calipers.
