gsr in 88' hatch... how do you guys clear the exaust manifold.

Default gsr in 88' hatch... how do you guys clear the exaust manifold.

my car has a black thing across the lower front and the exaust manifold won't clear it

*also what t braket do i need to use.??

Souns like you have problems with interference with the crossmember. This CAN happen evenwith the stock manifold, depending on which mount kit you use. You have two choices: notching yor crossmember to make it fit OR an aftermarket crossmember/traction bar.

are you talking about the front mount on the crossmember? Why don't you just cut it? Your mount kit won't use the front mount anyways for the GSR motor. The GSR header fits fine too with the stock crossmember due to its 4-2-1 design. Check my build thread, there are pics.

What exhaust manifodl are you running that it wont clear the cross member?

4-1 style headers won't fit without 'notching' the front cross member. Either way, I would remove the front mount off the cross member to give maximum clearance. The stock GSR header fits perfectly fine with a couple inches of clearance. Here's a pic of my setup using the stock GSR header from a B18C:
