Anyone with TRI-Y replica header please read
I just purchased a hytech replica header. The welds, material and workmanship look great, but I find the head flange is cracked in two spots. They are sending me a new one, but has anyone seen this on a new header? Someone mentioned to me that the "old style" ones had a problem with cracking. Is there a new and old version?
I own one and have no problems whatsoever. These are mass produced units and you have to expect that one or two defects will slip through the line. If they are sending you a new one then why worry?
That's kind of wierd, I have never had a problem with mine either. My header looks really good and runs really good. Hope ya get one without defects...

Thank you for editing my post from 3:51 am this morning. I appreciate the infinite techical knowledge bestowed upon me by your post. The car runs good with the header on it; I'm pretty sure you can figure that out.

Yes. There is a newer version of the header. I emailedhim the other day and he told me its the version 2 header. It's been re-welded where the flange is that connects to the head.

my brother pick up a tri-y replica not to long ago and yea it crack by the flange after a few 1000 miles but i rewelded it and it works fine
check the performance for sale section I have the Ti Ni coated one but i looked on there just the other day and some of the sellers only had them for a limited time. check out ebay. I love the way the header looks. for the price it is definitely worth 400 shipped out the door with quality welds
No to be a postwhore but....I really want to get this header for my car...but I am really concerned about ground clearence on this header. I have a Megan 4-1 style on my GSR and the bottom is all dented in. I wonder if this Hytech Replica will have any better ground clearance. And also my car is lowered too.
search up "hytech replica header" and there should be some pics with some ground shots showing where the clearance from the ground to the bottom part of the header.
i have about 10 of the BRUSHED stainless ones in stock.
Out of the 50 i HAD, about 5 had flange issues an cracked. Like someone else said, they work great an make good power, but it is a cheap header.
