Default gsr IM

I got a 96 Integra GSR. The GSR intake manifold is different and has dual runner I believe. If I were to switch to a single runner intake manifold like the skunk2 pro, edelbrock x, or the blox I would be able to run a type r style intake correct? Since GSR intakes are different the the LS and Type R intake I decided I'm going to change the IM later anyways so I might as well get a intake that would fit with the a single runner manifold. Can someone confirm this?

To answer your question, yes you will be able to use an ITR/LS intake. If you go with AEM, the ITR intake will be .5" larger in diameter than the LS.

it doesnt hydrolock unless you run into a major puddle and the intake sinks into the puddle.

I recommend Skunk2. Blox is garbage and some people will say that the Edelbrocks are the best and make the most power, and I will say that they most likely do make more power than even the Skunk2, but the price to me is not worth it. But if you have plenty of money and aren't worried, then yes I'd say get the Edelbrock(I think the PerformerX is the all-around one which is the best, don't remember for sure, and then the VixtorX is more for turbo, I may have tem backwards).

skunk2. but if you have spare $ tune your car. you're going to have a lot of low end loss.

The bolt pattern of the GSR intake side is unique and only works with other GSR intake manifolds unless you plan to redrill a few of the bolt holes on the intake flange from an LS/ITR/B16. Also, if you were to switch from the stock IM with the dual runner IAB setup to something with a large diameter single runner, plan to lose some low and midrange power. A retune on a chipped ECU would be a good plan if budget allows to reduce low-midrange losses and squeeze out as much from the top end as possible. Dont think that the GSR IM flows badly and it NEEDS to be changed. There are other modifications that would be a better buy for the money.

I had chipped ecu with ITR map and it still had low end/mid range lag until vtec-top end. I still think you should tune your car on some sort of stand alone ecu if you have spare money. maybe a hondata s100 i believe it cost $200 and another $150-200 for a good tune and make some decent power.

Well I'm planning to rebuild my engine to make at least 190whp in the future and the S2 IM is one of the many parts I'm going to need to upgrade. So that's why I decided to get this.

i also have a 96 gsr. I would stick with the stock one. There is butterfly valves in there and they actually do alot. I lost power switching to a type R. Actually i didnt lost but i didnt gain. The guys at KING motorsports told me that i should have stayed with the stock one. But now i put the motor in a 92 da so i dont have a choice cause the ecu cant tell it when to open the valves. Its just to bad they look stupid.
