91 accord performance questions
what types of aftermarket motors will fit in my accord. its and ex 5spd. im lookin at doin a motor swap while i have some idle time this winter. any help is appreciated.
Check the swaps section in the Accord FAQ's.
You can do any F or H series engines with little to no physical engine bay, transmission or drive shaft manipulation. With the exception of the S2k F20C. It won't work without a tone of custom fab and $$$$. There maybe some extra parts that you will have to get depending on the swap. If you do your research then you should know what perts to get with the engine you choose to swap.
Don't bother looking at any of the B or D series engines, there great for the lighter Civics but not going to do much in an full size Accord. As for swaping in a K you'll be looking at a lot of fab and $$$ as well.
Your best bang for your time and money is the H22 as much as that hurts me to say it.
Good luck

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the H22. I just prefer the less popular F series engines to build from that's all.
I'm not a boost guy either but from all the posts that I have seen on the net it seems like the F23 is the more popular & boost friendly Honda engine for the Accord. Then any one of the F22A*'s then the F22B1 & lastly the F22B2's. (due to there less effective head flow characteristics)
Someone will chime in and say the H's are the best and some will come in and say that the F's are the best for boost HP. My advice to you is do some more research on what you are going to need to get the engine up and running with boost. How much it will cost, and how much you are willing to spend. Don't go cheap, it will end up costing you more in the long run.
