I CHIPPED A P28 ECU AND USED THE OLD CHIP FROM THE OLD COMPUTER AND THE 1ST COMPUTER WAS BURNED AND THE ECU IS ACTING THE SAME LIKE THE ONE THAT BURN DO YOU THINK THE CHIP IS BURNED! ALSO WHEN I CHIPPED THE ECU I DIDNT USE THE 0.1uF ON C51, OR C52 BUT ALL THE OTHER STUFF IS ON SUCK AS THE M74HC373B1 THE JUMPER ON J1. AND THE RESISTOR ON R54!!! AND I ALSO INSTALLED THE SOCKET!! HELP HELP HELP!!!!

ok im going to disconnect j1 and see what happen!! but i think its the chip and not my work it looks to good to be my work!! but any way the other question was what happens if i dont put in those 2 resistors on c51, and c52 what are those used for. can somone explain what those to resistors are for? how does it help the chip to work or why does it need to to work? anyone got suggestions?
Its a resistor, i think it lowers current. But they need to be there, if they didnt they wouldnt be needed or included in chip kits. Deff get them if you dont have them.

so im going to install c51 and c52 on the circuit board of the ecu i hope it works.... another thing? is there any way for you a human to create some kind of static shock to cause, when ur installing the chip for you to fry it or damage the chip! and if so how would the chip be needed to be handle so you wont create a static shock
Get those resistors soldered in there.
As for static shock- Ground yourself before touching the ECU. Just put your hand on something like a metal desk leg or toolbox before grabbing the ECU.
If the old ECU was burnt up you should probably replace the chip. The chips you can re-burn are only like $7 from moates.net.

can you expalin the whole steps on that whole thing bout grounding myself before i grab the ecu!! expalin please it would help!!! thanxs alot! o and u say that site you gave me sells blank chips how would i program the chip!! well im reading up on urbadata right now and its says its a free program for maping ur ecu or somthing like that all you have to have is a windows based computer!! so those chips are blank!! right!!
By grabbing a toolbox or or desk leg you're basically making yourself electrically neutral. If you've been walking on carpet & there's low humidity there's a chance you've built up an electrical charge on your body. By grabbing something metal it lets electrons leave your body so you're no longer carrying a charge.
To burn a chip you'd need to buy the chip & a burner. If you plan on doing any tuning definitely get the blue adapter that allows you to easily pull the chips out.
To make the program you want to run you'd need either Crome or Uberdata & to burn it you would need the Burn1 program that you can get from Moates.net.
What kind of motor setup are you running?
And yes, the chips that come from Moates.net are blank when you receive them.

o and the setup im running is a ctr!!! n/a!! fuel pressure regulator, aem fuel rail, gsr injectors obdll, short ram intake! clutch net 6 puck with spring(clutch) dc header and that bad *** ecu but it burned so now the car is crap!! lol!! for now till i get her running up again!1
Take the chip to your friend's house & try to pull the .bin file from it. Save it to the computer & open it in whatever program you used to make it. See if any of the numbers are messed up & compare it to the old .bin if possible. If the numbers look like they're not messed up then the chip is fine.
If you burnt it at your friend's house see if he still has the .bin saved on his computer you can always pull it back up on his computer & burn it to the new chip if the one you currently have is fried.

everything you will need to know will be listed at http://www.pgmfi.org website.

c51 and c52 are capacitors not resistors. they stabalize the power going to the two new parts. Without them it's not going to stop the ECU form working.
static is a quick way to kill electronic parts (google ESD and read how easily it happens)
not just the chip, you can kill the main processor in the ECU with it...
Uberdata is an older program that has little to no support currently. Crome Free works fine but restricts you as far as datalogging.
eCtune is a newer program that has a lot of things that Crome doesn't.
