Default Red box attached to ECU?

Yesterday, was the first time that I had ever pulled a code by using the jumper plug on the ecu. So I was surprised to find a small red metal box attached to my ECU, the box doesn't have any markings. Does anybody know what this red box is or have a guess? I apologize if this question is noobish.

It goes up behind the dash. I do have a alarm, but it is an audiovox alarm the previous owner had installed. I don't think that an alarm made by audiovox would have a gps signal box.

The white wire you see coming out of the side of the rid box goes down were it connects to the wires coming out of the bottom of the ECU and then goes up behind the dash with the rest of the wires.

None really, it gets down almost to the point of the connectors but then it splices off into another white wire that is running vertically.

If it is one of those, you should be able to probably follow the wires into the bay, and take them off easy. May even run better, lol.

i dont think thats an ABS component, but your on the right track about the low jack. Looks to me like some sort of aftermarket tracking device or immobilizer.

Haha maybe. You know I just remembered back in September I found some kind of controller behind the steering column, and I emailed the guy that I bought the car from to ask what it was and he said that it was a rev limiter for drag racing so maybe this box has something to do with that.

Try doing that give the previous owner a call or email if you could and ask.

Some extenrnal (obviosly aftermarket) launch control, anti-leg, or twp step unit maybe? Im not sure on that tho, i was under the influence that you could simply have your ECU (ex: p28) chipped for such a thing.
