Filling license plate holes...?
Does anyone have suggestions what has worked for them in filling in the license plate holes on the front bumper?
If you have done it, how long has your car been fine without them cracking out?

you dont fill them with bondo...there's a company called Wurth and they make this plastic bumper filler. I believe its called fixall, but when i go back to work on monday I'll get the exact name of it. Its a rubber compound thats mad to fix plastic repairs in bumpers and works really nice. I've fill quite a few tiny holes in bumpers and never had any problems with it cracking
Sweet I am going to have my boyfriend repaint my whole car, he used to work at an autobody shop and painted my brothers. But my brother filled it with bondo and I know that it would crack out and it did.

no need to worry about cracking or anything of that nature.

i hear ya about having them removed altogether.
i'm also out of a lot of colors but people are buying mismatched plugs and having them repainted when their cars are painted or they are using oem touch-up paint.
i thought i'd help. good luck with the shaving and be sure to let everyone know what you used so the holes wont crack.
i'd love to build an EG as my next car, and a shaved bumper would look pretty clean.

You can get SEM bumper repair the part # is 68422, then I used a 4 inch grinder with a flapper wheel to get rid of the ridges where the license plate holes are you want it to be recessed and roughed up. I put tape on the back side of the hole then applied the bumper repair let dry sand, sometimes it need a skim coat of filler to make perfect. sand prime paint. gauranteed not to crack, my car has been like that for 2 years and its an abused dd, Ive done a couple others that way with great results. Hope this helps
We used some fiberglass and epoxy on the back of the holes for support and used the bumper fixer (can't remember the name, it's black in color we use to fix bumpers at the shop) on the front of the bumper, with a tad of filler to finish it up.
for small emblem guide hole=yes
don't use it for those big **** plate hole, they are not meant to be filling a hole just minor low spot no higher than 3/8"

same as doubleshotz said i used some bumper repair epoxy with close knit wire mesh supporting it from behind. the bumper repair stuff wouldnt sand out to smooth so i had to finish it off with body filler to even it all out but it came out awsome.
