94 lx oil pump
has anyone here ever had there oil pump go out. the only reason i asked is because my oil light has been coming on randomly, i changed my oil, now it doesnt come on as often but it still comes on occasionaly. anyway someone told me that on an 94 accord it was VERY unlikely that the oil pump would go out because they were pretty much bullet proof. he said he so sure it wasnt my oil pump that if it was, he would buy it for me. so i was wondering if anyone has had any problems with ther pumps or if it really is that rare.
The light problem is pretty common in Accords. Search oil light in the recent topics. In my case it came on a few times, I changed the oil, and it went away. I think I had some kinda crud in my pick up.
Others say the problem could be the pressure sending unit going, or a pump dying and not supplying enough pressure at idle

More then likely its the oil psi sensor. I would double check it with a gauge to be sure. But ya an oil pump failing would be pretty rare un-less was a lack of oil changes in the cars life
