rebuild title
I was checking out a friend of mines integra. hes trying to sell it me but it has a rebuilt title. its not registered now because he has a dealer plate so my question is how hard will it be to register and go through all the dmv bullshirt. what will i have to do to get it registered. thanks in advance
nothing special with a rebuilt title...you can register it the same as a clear title
all the BS has been taken care of already (to get rid of the salvage brand and get the rebuilt status)

I wouldn't get anything with a rebuild or salvage title on it cause I think you can only insure it for a certain amount. Can't remember exactly. I would just ask your insurance company about it or just google info.

umm that's
unless you got some garbge insurance co.
it's not like he's buying a $30,000 car rebuilt title anyway....hell, go with liability only if the car is cheap enough

what about a motor with no papers? the kid isnt a thief but he bought it off his buddy when his ls blew up and his friend didnt have papers for it.
if its cheap buy it and just put liability on it and drive it conservatively so you arent without a car.
No body would kno about the motor chances are they dont be checking VIN numbers while your having an emissions/safety test

Just for the record, some "rebuilt" title cars have to go through a reinspection if you bring the into one state from another. For instance, if you bring a NY rebuilt car into Pa, it has to be reinspected by an inspection mechanic with an advanced inspection license in order to be retitled in Pa. As far as insuring an R titled car, I have never heard of the insurance company covering a lower amount than the car is worth. I have heard of lenders (banks, credit unions, etc.) not giving you the loan value of the car if it has an R title, but never an insurance company only covering a certain amount. Good luck with your buy either way!
