Alright, I just got a 2002 Honda Civic EX. And i like the car, but the CD player just flat out sucks.
I have a Pioneer that is about 6 months old. I want to put it in the civic, but i cant get the damn factory player out of it!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong!
HELP PLEASE!

 

pay the $60 bucks and let some professionals do it
But if you dont take that route. Im not formilar with your interior, but sometimes you need to take out the center console. Dont hold me on it but that might be it.

 

well i would pay the money but it will be a lot more than $60. I have XM satelite radio, and they want $80 to hook that up. I can do it myself, but not if i cant get the damn dash apart.
so $80+the $60 to put in the cd player.

 

Pop off the panel under the radio that the lighter is attached to. Look up under the dash at the two 8mm bolt/screws. Take those out. Pop off the entire dashpiece around the radio/heater controls. Be careful as the dash creases easily. I find it is easier if you take a long screwdriver and wedge it behind the dashpiece from inside the glovebox opening to force the right side of the dashpiece out, then work around the panel. But now i dont have the wire colors right. I have to twist them because the harness isnt just right.
i dont know which wires go where. Some still have the tags on them with the label of what they are (ground, battery, etc.) So I am stuck till I can get those.
Anyone know how I could get a list of which colors are what?
Its the Pioneer that is about $280, and it has those gay little movie type deals, like dolphins, race cars, stuff like that.
