skunk 2 s1 cams on gsr???
yeah so i bought a motor from someone... and he said it had skunk 2 stage 1 cams in it.
so i got the motor with s2s1 cams s2 intake manifold b16 tranny etc... if my motor was cammed.. why would a stock gsr with exhaust and an intake run door to door with me?? my ek weighs less too... and compression on the integra is 110 in one cylinder as opposed to 220... i pulled them and the lobes look the same and their the same color..
did i get ripped off?

There are SO many variables when it comes to problems like this. As for the cams, you could have gotten ripped off. BUT, when it comes to basic descriptions of the appearance of various cams, there really is not that big of a difference - especially when you are comparing stock with a stage 1 cam (which is not all that bigger than stock). I dont know if maybe Skunk2 cams have some sort of markings on them. You might try calling Skunk2 to get some answers. But there are other possibilities here as well. For instance, do you have the right ECU for the motor? Is everything installed right? Is VTEC engaging? Do you have any check engine lights? And how about tuning? Although you should still be faster than a stock Integra even with stock cam gears, ignition timing that is retarded can make a BIG difference.

The skunk stage 2 cams should say, ho1 on the ends of it. With out a tune computer, your motor will not run that good. You need to raise your vtec higher. The only time I know the cams are working is at 7,200rpm and above. Maybe some one here can shim in a bit.
