Default 2003 Mitsu EVO VIII for sale

ok, i've been wrestling with this for a while now; i LOVE this car, but i need some funds for 2008 to 'improve' my PTE racecar and to finish rebuilding my vintage Super Seven (it's been apart and off the track for the last 6 years!!!). so, here goes:

2003 Mitsubishi EVO VIII
41k miles (i have owned since practically brand new; it had about 1k miles on it when i bought it from the dealer). never smoked in, never eaten in. it has all the 'normal' options: HID lights, intercooler water sprayer (auto and manual settings), power windows, power locks, power moonroof, ABS (great big brembos all around), tilt steering, CD stereo, power locks (remote keyless), alarm, recaro seats (they are absolutely awesome!), A/C, plus some other stuff i am probably forgetting!

extras are as follows:
- mitsu stereo relocation kit (moves stereo from up high in the dash to down near the bottom)
- mitsu 'sports meter' kit (boost gauge, volts, and oil temp gauges) located up high, where the stereo used to be
- autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge (i mounted it on the column). this car needed an oil press gauge from the factory; i can't believe it isn't standard! BTW, my car has excellent oil pressure; when hot, it is about 80-90 psi when revving above 4k rpm.
- HKS 264/264 camshafts. i installed these myself, and did it 'right' - i removed and bled down all the lifters, and followed the factory shop manual. car runs AWESOME with these cams; better in every way -- better fuel mileage, much better power (mid range and top end). idle is quite good, too. never ever stalls. they live well with the A/C; no stalling, good idle when A/C is engaged.
- Dynoflash ecu reflash (for the 264 cams)
- RSR competition downpipe
- rear muffler delete
- secondary O2 simulator (electronic, not the mechanical spark plug thing). car runs PERFECT and has never had a 'check engine light'. ever.
- ReidSpeed custom water/alchy injection system. currently has an M3 nozzle in it, triggering at 11 psi (both adjustable). i generally use a water-window washer fluid mix.
- mitsu brake cooling guides
- ralliart negative grounding kit

suspension is all stock, except for a 'ReidSpeed performance alignment'. the camber bolts have been flipped, and there is about 1/16" toe out up front. tires on the car are 235-45-17 Yoko 032R tires (this is what i use year round).

extras for the car include:
- new set of rear pads (in the box). almost new set of front pads (project Mu, in the box).
- extra set of oem mitsu rims.
- extra set of yoko 048R tires
- original stock oem cams
- original stock oem downpipe
- all original books and manuals, plus the mitsu factory service manual

i have been fanatical about maintenance on this car; the rear diff fluid has been changed twice (Diaqueen); the transfer case fluid has been changed twice (Diaqueen); the tranny fluid has been changed twice (Synchromesh). the engine oil/filter has been changed every 4-5k with Mobil 1 10w-30. the brake fluid has been flushed twice with Valvoline synthetic.

this car has never once had a problem, or been back to the dealer for anything. it has not been 'abused' in any way. it has always been run at stock boost levels (it has NEVER had a boost controller of any sort on it). it is still on it's original clutch (and it feels perfect!). the engine is very quiet (no lifter clatter at all) and has a mean, deep exhuast note. typically, i get 23-25 mpg mixed driving, and 28 mpg on the highway trips. this car is VERY strong, and handles VERY well, and has amazing brakes. i am sure that i will miss it mightily, if it sells....

pictures below (i didn't clean it up; this is how it looked today when i pulled it away from the house and started snapping pics):

exterior shots:

the exterior paint and bodywork is excellent (no accidents or paintwork done on it). the only imperfection is that the CF wing is 'sunburned':

engine shots:

i am asking $20k for it. i am firm on the price.

i live near Newark, DE. if you are serious and would like to come take a look at it, and a test drive, please contact me!

thanks.
