I removed my entire A/C System from my 1997 Civic LX (4-door). The 4-door and 2-door have the same engine bay regarding A/C. The engine might have a 7 or an 8 after the Y, but there are little differences besides that regarding the removal of the A/C system.
I wish I was there to do it myself- but basically you want to drain the freon (legally of course, because you can not legally openly drain freon into the atmosphere unless it is an approved brand) and start disconnecting.
