If I remember correctly, doesn't the XSI use a SOHC motor, and wasn't it awd?

wrong

to the OP, i had an authentic XSi, but obviously since it was a true jdm car i didn't go all crazy on building it, i rather wanted the car to be respected for what it was: an authentic japanese car driven in the US

and as an FYI, just call it a b16....not an xsi motor

if you want power...go boost...and skip the b16

:werd:

B16's are over rated and not reliable if you put a lot of power into it. GSR B17 would be best or New GSR.

since you have a DA, your best bet to be "quick", being almost stock would be a B18C with a b16 tranny. Trust me, it'll be really fun to drive. If you build the b18c and make at least 200whp with the b16 tranny, that should be a REALLY fun daily driver granted your not going to be beating corvettes.

You will have a lot of fun with a b16 DA. My friend had one and it was a nice daily. I don't know if I would swap out a perfectly running ls for it though. Regardless it has been done before and you will have fun

The best way to build a b18c and stay reliable is to use oem parts. I would bore it out with ITR pistons, ITR/CTR valvetrain and cams, blox/skunk2/itr intake manifold and a nice header. All that and a tune would be pretty quick and still very reliable.
