So I found this 96-00 civic tranny on craigslist and Im wondering what I can do before I actually buy it to see if its at all in good shape. Additionally im wondering if any of these things came with lsd. Thanks a bunch.

 

If you could see through the differential its LSD you cant its not. What i do is get a clutch disc. Put it on the main shaft and spin it, with a screwdriver shift the shifter to go through gears. That just insures you have all 5 gears and reverse. Other then that nothing else but opening it.

 

^Yep, plus a fluid check for color, smell, and shavings.
