Default can lc1 wide band be used as a normal 02 for the ecu?

can i use the lc1 to replace the signal from the stock 02 to the ecu or do i have to still run the stock one to ecu and use lc1 only as add on for tuning? and also when i first turn it on it says to calabrate it with the sensor in free air, does this mean i must have sensor not in the exhaust but just out sittin on the fender or somethin to do this or can i put it in the exhaust but jsut not have the car running?

Yes, it can replace the stock sensor when configured to provide narrowband output. 'Free air' means away from any exhaust fumes, so do it out of the exhaust unless the car's been sitting for several hours and you're sure there's no exhaust hanging around. All of this is covered in the manual.
