1994 Accord EX auto rough idle - stiff gas pedal... please help!
I just purchased a 94 Accord EX automatic w/ 60k original miles. Car is in mint condition. It has two problems. When its in "D" and I come to a stop the idle stays steady at 500-600 rpm but the car shakes pretty bad. So I bought new plugs/ wires, cleaned out the TB and checked for vacuum leaks but it still has a rough idle. Could a dirty IACV or FITV be causing it to have a rough idle? I thought when those are dirty they cause a pulsating idle not a rough one. Could the MAP sensor cause it to idle rough? Also the car has a really stiff gas pedal? Is this normal? What could be causing it to be so stiff? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!
It might be worth the effort to pop off the IACV and blast it out with some Berrymans B-12. Some times the screen gets clogged up.
As far as the idle vibration, check the front subframe motor mount to see if the rubber has cracked out.
If the mount rubber bushing looks good, try putting the trans in park, engine at idle, loosen and retighten the top mount bolt. It might change the vibration.

The front engine mount was broken and I had that replaced today when they did my timing belt package at Honda. I thought the broken mount might have caused the vibration but unfortunately the new mount hasn't helped at all. I don't know what else I can do since all the other mounts are good and the idle is steady... its just so annoying the car vibrating like it does when I'm at a stop. Anyone have any ideas?
