Default Help on rebuilding my b18c1

Im a beginer at all this stuff and was wondering if i can get some help on how i should rebuild my motor. My motor is burning a lot of oil so i know it needs to be rebuilt and it has a lot of miles on it. im not planning to boost but if i do in the future it would be ok just to slap a turbo on it. does that make sense?...... but i also want to rebuild it to where its better than stock like more hp if possible. Where should i start????

Do a leak down test to determine if your rings or valves are bad. If its your rings, you can easily do an oem rebuild for under 2k if you pull and install the motor yourself. Throw some ITR pistons in there and some ARP rod bolts, new bearings and gaskets, balance and block assembly should be well under $2k.
