Default RMF header in an EF... Clearance problems?

It's been brought to my attention that there may be some clearance issues with my RMF header in my EF. I am about to drop my motor but want to know before I drop it if I need a new header or not.

Anyone ever done it and any pictures?

Motor is a B20/VTEC if it matters.

u'll probably need an aftermarket traction bar system to accomodate almost every custom b series header. if not, look to pay out of the rectum trying to acquiring a custom header to clear the oem crossmember, due to the motor sitting more forward with the aftermarket mount kit. ****, i honestly don't thinks its even possible in b'd up ef without the t/bar system. is it an rmf narrow? if it is, that won't fit, so...............

Thanks?

Not the answer I was really looking for. I was trying to figure out if I needed to buy another header before I install my swap considering this is my DD.

get a tape measure and find out. Its seriously not difficult to determine if it will fit without clearance issues. And i bet you get the answer for yourself before anyone can give you a definite answer.

I'll buy your RMF if you end up needing another header - check your PM for details

I may be stupid or something. I don't know how I could get perfect details without having the motor in? I have a feeling it will be really close call so I don't know. I guess I'll just have a backup header just incase.

The RMF narrow-style header should fit without issue.

I have one, and am looking for a race-style RMF.

Check your PM's, maybe we can work something out.

Really not trying to get rid of this header though. Unless it def doesn't fit. But if it doesn't fit, I'm tempted to cut the radiator support. I love this header.

You have this header , rite?

This is the one I have, and I took a tape measure, and checked clearance inmy 89 Hatch. I will need a 1/2 radiator, and it will need a aftermarket tration bar.

he said youll need an aftermarket traction bar setup too. now i dunno if its the front mount that would hit. we cut the front mount off my gross member to fit my header. why not just get a grinder and trim your front cross member where you need to to make it fit.

The innovative Xmember setup gives you the same clearance as 92 to 95 civic and allows for easy installation of a 92 to 95 civic radiator. Its absolutely the best for the money.

I've known I need a traction bar. You pretty much need a traction bar for a B/EF period. I've seen people work around it but mainly i said.

obviously, some of u guys have little, if any experience with a b'd up ef. with the oem xmember, a dc 4-2-1 barely clears the tiny gap, due to the motor sitting more forward with the mount kit. i had to notch the xmember on my b20v ef, just to fit my Mugen 4-2-1 w/2.38" collector, and that **** was mangled. trust me, an aftermarket t/bar system is the only way

Dc 4-2-1 clears just fine in my 91 crx with oem crossmember. there is plenty of room. Nothing is mangled. I want an rmf header or an smsp, but I don't want traction bars. I'll prolly look into the innovative crossmember.
