Default I was wondering what was the best way to remove the bottleneck from my exhaust?

I was just wondering what would be the best way to remove the bottlenecks that come with the Type One exhaust. SHould I cut off the whole flange and weld another flange on??? What would be the best way to still maintain a smoothe inner surface so that airflow will still be optimal? I need to remove the bottle neck, but I am not sure exactly waht to do.....so for all you guys that solved this problem....what did you do and where did you get it done...thanks in advance

cutting out the flange isnt a bad idea for a experienced welder

otherwise just get rid of it for another catback without a bottleneck
