Default Vibration at 1800 rpm and under braking ('95 wagon)

I have this strange vibration at ~ 1800-1900 RPM, if I keep my speed at that RPM the car just vibrates similar to when ABS activates. It basically does the same thing while I am braking slowly. For what it's worth, the ABS light is not on, and ABS is working fine. Any clues as to what this may be?

Has the axle been replaced? I recently purchased a 94 ex wagon, which had a vibration under acceleration around 2000 rpm and under braking, same as yours. I was told I needed a wheel bearing by one shop, as the wheel was a little loose when they put the car on a lift. A different shop said it was a bad ball joint. I have expeienced both of those issues on other cars, and wasn't convinced that either of those was the problem. I took it to a dealer, and it turned out that someone had installed the wrong axle on that side, and the bearing and ball joint were fine. I suppose an axle that is worn out in "just the right way" could also produce those vibrations. Additionally, when these axles are manufactured, they are balanced by welding small weights onto them. If one of those fell off, you'd probably get those same symptoms. Just a thought. Probably not very likely...

vibration under braking is typically rotor thickness variation, ie you need to have your discs resurfaced.

^^ it's definitely not the rotors, it doesn't shimmy, feels more like the ABS is coming on.

Axles were replaced in August, I'll have the shop take a look.

Wow, that's a hard one, but I'd have to say that the rotors could be bad. Obviously if you have a warped rotor the car is going to vibrate while braking and can easily vibrate while accelerating too because the rim is bolted on top of the rotor. But if it feels like it's vibrating like the ABS is coming on, it could be because one of your wheel speed sensors or something like that is bad, but usually that will throw an ABS code...

AXLE 100% sure! now go and figure out which one. Check the intermediate shafts for play. There's shouldn't be any. If you find some, that's your problem.

Sometimes the wheel speed sensor is bad on but the ABS or Check engine light doesn't come on. I wouldn't rule out the wheel speed sensor. This should be easy to replace. Check the rotor thickness. Check the axel for play if its neither I would replace wheel speed sensor. Check http://www.rockauto.com should be able to get it for cheap. You can also get 5% of with this code: 1046972862539 .
