Bouncy Ride
Sold my em2 for nbp civic si. Is it just me, or does the ride seem a bit bouncy? I don't know if the springs just need to set or what, but something doesn't seem right so I thought I'd ask around. It shimmies a bit on the freeway too.
Not exactly what I expect from a new car.

i also came from an em2 i noticed it also its normal the suspension as a much more sport set up but you may want to check your tire pressure to high of a pressure and give you a harsh or abnormal ride 32-35 cold psi

Checked the pressure and just tried to drive on it.... after 2000 miles though I'm not sure... Car tends to pitch and shimmy really bad, and there's some noticeable rattling in the steering wheel (maybe from those crappy all season michelins mx's which provide next to no grip). Does this sound normal to anybody? Just trying to make sure I'm not going nuts
Now do you mean bouncy like a 88 Cadillac with blow shocks or do you mean choppy like a real stiff suspension? Mine is super choppy but it is the suspension. As for the shimmy....mine did that on the test drive but it had just thrown a front wheel weight.....maybe check that out....
Just picked up the HFP Suspension for my Si... After driving on it for a few days I'm pretty sure the ride issues were just a combination of soft suspension, and crappy oem tires. I'm really surprised that Honda sells the car without the HFP suspension (or better tires for that matter), but whatever. I'm enjoying the corners without worrying about my warranty. Time for some new rubber, maybe some roll bars...

Why are you suprised the car was not sold with HFP susoension? HFP would be too stiff for your regular, run of the mill, sport compact driver.
Personally, I liked the stock suspension. It has a good ride and still handled the corners well. Honestly, the HFP hurts by back on long drives on crappy roads. On the flip side, I love the increase handling I gained from HFP, Bigger Sways, SS endlinks and great tires.
