i am thinking about getting either a fit or civic Si totakewith me overseas. i know fitsdon't have navi, but will the operating system for the navigaton in the civic work in spain if i purchase a model from the states. i think it will but i just want to know for sure. I don't want to buy a car with navigation and have it not work. no theories please, just facts and reassurance that it will please!

 

you will most likely need to buy the softwere(DVD) to download onto your navi if they have it for spain

i did a little research at the dealer and had them call their corporate managers and it turns out that the navi systems are incompatible even with the overseas DVD. Dumb i know but o so true!

 

Skip the OEM nav!

They use garmin based GPS, and use the same software as garmin units.

I will be going to Kuwait very shortly and I will be taking my car and my GPS with me. I have purchased the GPS software for the middle east already. I can tell you I have driven most of Kuwaits populated areas, but this time I am going back prepared.

Whatever you decide to get, get a Garmin or Garmin based unit!!!

By the way, my GPS screen looks just like the Kenwood unit.
