So I recently got into the integra scene ('94 ls) and the antenna was working fine. Sometimes struggling/making noise when going up and down, but worked. Well i installed a new head unit and guess what. Now it wont go up when i turn on the car/ radio. Anyone had this happen before? Can people maybe let me know about things to check? Thanks for any help.

 

Did you connect the wire from the new radio to the antenna turn on lead in the harness?

 

not sure. All i did was use the harness that was for my eg. Theres a antenna turn on lead? i did plug in the antenna cord... the one that seperately plugs into the head unit.

 

Could be a bad motor or the antenna all gunked up. Might want to clean it.

just go see if you cant find a teg at a junk yard, rip out the antenna motor in the back left panel and mabey it'l work..

 

my antenna wont go down

when i turn on the radio it makes noise as if its going up then when i turn it off it make noise like its going down

never really looked to much into it

but now i might check it out in the morning

 

If the motor makes noise and there is no motion, the plastic cable is most likely damaged and you need a new mast.

If nothing happens, yes there is an antenna turn-on lead. It is typically blue in aftermarket radio harnesses.

 

my 90 teg antenna broke too, it makes the same noise, but its stuck half way so it doesn't looks so bad, been like that for 2 years now.

 

ohhh so its the same as the "remote" wire for an amp. That makes sense. Thanks I'll look into it.
