Default Hood Lip??

Are they're any 01-03 OEM or aftermarket hoods that are sold without the extra lip above the grill?? (more of the 04-05 look).. [IMG][/IMG] links would help alot guys thanks .. and dont worry bout those ricers mirrors they're coming off very soonb

they are sold with it... its only an add-on option if it needs to be replaced. you can take it off but i think itll leave holes on the hood?? not sure though.. try it?

If you take it off it will leave holes, and a slot in the hood. Maybe try to bondo over the holes? I wouldn't recommend it though.

I think it looks good like that on 01-03's. I would concentrate on a bumper repaint first

My coupe, and every 01-3 coupe I've seen so far has that peice. Coupes are body color, and sedans are silver. Mine's from a sedan

it completes the grill outline, so its gonna look goofy without it unless you get some other grill that will pass off without it, but if the front end is going to the body shop, just have em yank it out, fill the holes smooth and repaint it. They'll have to spray some of the hood, if not all of it to get the fenders and bumper to blend in.

why not waste your time, its different and you want the clean look, but all 03 coupe's came with the same so call hood lip.....best bet if you want to make it clean...grab some fiber glass and experiment....oh also make a diy so i can watch...cause i always wanted to depleat myself of the front liscense plate thingy-ma-gig, but never had time lol...do it, do it, do it lol

would a hood from a 1.7 EL work? I know they don't have the "hood lip" but not sure if the curve on the top of the headlights are the same or not.

if you take it off, not only will you have holes, but you will have a huge slot about 1/2" deep and the same length as the trim piece where it used to be.
