Default Serious problem after my teggy drove in the hung rain

car won't idle right..
it's above 1k and then goes up to 1.5k even 2k and down to 1.2k and up again constantly. While drove her back home she stalled when i stop at the lights..
so i shut the engine off and then started her again and go..

what's wrong with her now?
I have CAI, would it be possible that the CAI sucked some water into the motor or something??

please help
I even reset my ECU 5 times but still the idle didn't drop and stays at 1k

If he hydrolocked the damage is done. Try a comression check, my guess will be that one or more cylinders is going to be low. Sounds bad, sorry dude.

hmm I don't really know if this is related.. but thats what my old roommates car used to do.. it was his fast idle control valve/idle control valve.. i forget what the exact name of the part was called.. intake idle control valve or cold idle control valve/fast Idle control vavle... it didnt happen after a rainstorm though.. maybe its a coincidence or maybe your problem is something else.. not sure.. .

daym dude... you are definitely a newbie. but its all good man... we can try to help you as much as we can. you came to the right place. did you even check your air filter to see if there was moisture? some socket wrench kits include a spark plug socket... i forgot the actual size. i really think it would be your idle screw... but its funny how your idle would act funny after that. take out the intake pipe and take a look inside and inside your throttle body.

Thanks man..
i couldn't reach the air filter but i believe it's wet coz i could see my corn filter at the bottom of my car right infront of the tranny.. reason why i couldnt' get to see it is coz i will have to take the front bumper off which i don't really know how?? but i did unplug the pipe which connected to the TB... it seems dry... but the exhaust out puts moisture air though~~

you don't need to take off your bumper to check your filter. put the car on some stands and unscrew the little black flap(only the passenger side screws). now check the filter

hahah... too bad i can't but i wish
i did auto to manual on my teg, as well SAFC and OBD1 conversion...
since then i never took my car back to the dealer again..
so...

By the way, good news...
i took up the corn filter and find out only the filter is wet but the pipe and TB are dry.
so does it mean it didn't suck any water... and now i will have to move on to check if my idle???
it was fine this morning till i drove after the hung rain ... nothing seems right to me.. :

Ouch man sounds like hydrolock....Well the socket for the spark plug would be 5/8 I believe. Take it out and check and see. My suggestion is don't even start it up again leave it how it is and try and remedy the problem. Looks pretty worse as is but then yeah it could be your fast idle screw at tb. Good luck let us know how the plugs come out. Another way to check that filter is put on jackstand and just remove the passenger side wheel and unscrew that mudguard and check the filter. Good luck man. If its still under warranty then just bring it to the dealer.

ok i am going to double check the spark plugs now....
and i did check the filter and i just took it out and let it dry
but the pipe seems pretty dry so does the TB. i guess it might jsut suck some moisture air in it right? would it be alright though?

and no even it's under the warranty i couldn't take it back coz once they found out i did the auto to manual conversion they will void the whole car.. which is not funny

please help
Thanks

Could just be a coincedence that it happened after it rained.

Check for vacuum leaks. Also, pull the intake off and while the idle is bouncing, cover up the upper-left hole on the inside of the TB with your finger. If the idle drops and sputters, your Fast Idle Thermo Valve is bad.

i sugest u taking ur car to a shop and have them look at it.
1. did u start ur car with the wet filter on? if u did then maybe thats what gave u the eratic idle.
2. an oil change might help you out. You definitly got water in there and just because the pipe and TB are dry doesnt me u didnt.
3. Do a compresion test if u dont know how find someone who does or take it to the shop. Might have a bent valve causing the idle problem.
4. since u got water in there- you might have got some in the vacume lines which if pluged up can also mess with the idle.
5. Good luck and let us know what happens.
