Default Need someone to validate my plan (B18C5??)

I have a 88 CRX Si, there are a few import classes at the local 1/8th mile track that I want to participate in. So far the car has a skunk 2 pro series full coil over suspension and i just ordered some Motegi Traklite wheels and a plug for the sunroof.

I have a GSR cable tranny with Quaife LSD and an aluminum flywheel left over from a previous build so it it only makes sense to go with a B-series motor.

I was thinking a B18C5 with I/H/E would put me where i need to be. There is a 9.00 and a 9.40 index class and a heads up N/A 4 banger class.

I will be on Lenzo's and slicks, a 9.00 is roughly a 14 flat in the 1/4.

I know there are cheaper ways to go but for me this is the easiest route.

Does my plan hold water?

I think youll be much quicker than 9.0 with a B18C5 and slicks.
For the price of a C5,you could build a ls/vtec or b20 vtec and go faster.
But if you dont feel like building an engine,a b18c5 is a great choice.
I would expect mid 13's on street tires in a B18c5 CRX...

Thanks for the replys. I figured a B18C5 would do the job!

I need something to race in 08'....My Mustang went boom and it will cost way more than the cost of this swap to get it back going.

Thanks!!!
