Default Got rear-ended last night.

Well I stopped at a light and someone hit me going pretty slow ~5mph. Now that it is light out I am going to make sure that nothing got messed up, are there any little things that get damaged easily that I should look for?

The styrofoam insert for the bumper may have been damaged. Check the filler piece above the bumper as well. Was the strike isolated to the bumper cover?

i wuld get under the car first and look at the bumper rails to see if they are tweaked. check the hatch/turnk lid (if u have a 4dr) to see if the gaps are wrong. check the styrofoam behind the bumper cover. make surea ll the light work too. Exhaust is another thing that like to tweak out when u get hit

I got rear-ended waiting in traffic, he must have hit me doing maybe 4 mph, the only damage done was a small scratch and the bumper paint had a small crack in it. Nothing to go crazy about so the guy just gave me 20 bucks and I was on my way.

well considering the FACT that they ARE so high, we might as well make some use of it, take adantage, and get SOMETHING back.

Yeah, the last thing I am going to do is sue, even though the woman was a bitch about the whole thing.

I checked it out today in the daylight and it looks like the bumper was pushed down about an inch. There is a big enough gap between the trunk (4 door) and the bumper that i am going to go in and get a written estimate tomorrow. I feel bad about getting money for something little like that, but I do not want to have the value of my car depreciate because of something that isn't my fault.

i hope you had k-y

jk but hope all goes well for you. the only time i had to sue was when the other party tried to blame fault on me. and then tried to convince my insurance to accept both parties at fault. but it wasn't even my fault so i had to take it to court, brought up my evidence and won. just tryign to say theres no reason to sue unless shes not trying to accept fault for it or unless shes trying to pull you down as well.

damn you got screwed on that deal, he should have given you like $300-$400 at least. Even a small crack requires the whole bumper to be refinished (if you want it done right).

Wow man, that's genius. Might as well start stealing gasoline because the prices are so high.

You do not need to go to the cheapest shop. Choose one that you like and trust.

Wow that's shitty. She hit you and had the nerve to be a bitch about it! Ha! in that case I would've reported it to the insurance company and made a report. See once I accidentally backed into this bitch's bumper in a parking lot...less than 5 mph, you know, backing out of a space. It left a mark on her license plate and she actually called the cops and got some insurance money from it, and my rate went up. it was seriously NOTHING.

I went to the shop the other day and it knocked my bumper out of alignment and caused damage to the paint inside of the license plate recess in the bumper from the bumper flexing. The damage was estimated at about $350.

Edit: Just got off the phone with the claims adjuster and they are denying that they hit me, and I have to speak with an agent tomorrow and show them the damage.
