Oil light flashing
I have 94 accord ex, 4 cyl, 4 dr with 230k miles. A few days ago my car was low on coolant and started to overheat. Then my oil pressure light came on. It stays on when the car in turned on and i'm not moving, but starts to blink when I start driving. I know my oil is not low cause I changed my oil a few weeks ago and there are no leaks. What could be the cause of this?...did the pressure switch fail when my car overheated?....can someone tell me where i can find the pressure switch and/or inform me on what else could be wrong..thanks
I had the same problem, I changed the oil and I went away.It blinked a few times at idle prior to the change, and never came back afterwards. A few people told me it could be the sensor because it is old, a dying pump, or material in the oil screen. My bet was material in the oil screen because it went away with a change.
Are there any dents in your oil pan?

uhh if your headgasket went out then all the oil would leak into the coolant.. in which case you'd have a leak. so you might want to check the level anyways. theres no point in not doing it to be safe.

Yea, if the car overheated you could have blown the head gasket, which could cause the oil to leak into the coolant or vice versa and cause low oil pressure. Based on what happened from your point of view this seems pretty likely. To the guy who posted above - oil pumps very rarely go bad. The only time I've seen them fail is because the pump was run dry or because of a manufacturing defect.
