I just bought a set of Fel-Pro Valve Guide Seals and they ALL have black springs... what's up with that? I read that Intake springs (on the valve stem seals) should be silver/white... I hope I didn't just get 16 exhaust seals.... any ideas?

 

I'd take that **** back and have them open up a new set for you to make sure. Like you know, the Helms says the seals are not interchangeable.

 

yea well I just called Autozone and they had a different brand than the ones I bought from my uncle's shop (they said it was called Roll or Rolls or something) and their's were all black as well... wtf is goin on?

oh and they were also described as "premium", which my Fel-Pro ones are described as too (Fel-Pro box says "Premium Quality VITON valve stem seals enclosed.")

 

also, where do all of you guys get these from when you buy them?

 

I believe i got mine at the dealership

 

dealer was charging like $2.somethin for intake and $9.somethin for exhaust (or the other way around) EACH for the guide seals.... I thought people said this was a cheap replacement? Oh and also the dealer would have to "special order" them...
