Default Removing Alarm system on 1990 Si. A little help please?

Hello all.

I have an after market alarm system installed in my car and its been **** ever since I got it. The control sucks and I lost it but now I cant turn on my car because the alarm is also a kill switch. Anyone know the usual spots that people put the alarm modules or something? I really want to remove the alarm system and install a better one later on.

Thanks!
-Arthas.

Look under the dash, and start looking for anything that isn't supposed to be there. Once you identify a power line or the sorts, follow it back.

Follow it back to where? And what do the cables look like?

Are they crimped on or something?

It depends on the type of alarm and the type of install. If it was a good stealth install, then it will probably take you some time to find it, otherwise it should be right underneath the dash.

More than likely it was a cheap install, so just look directly underneath the ignition column and near the fuse box for any wires that are not factory loomed. Trace those wires and you should be able to find the alarm brain. Again depending on the install, the wires could be soldered, crimped, or twisted together.

It will basically come down to you just spending some time underneath the dash. If all else falls, take some pictures and we'll be able to help you find it.
