Default rebuild cost?

Hi, I got a 96 Integra GS-R and it has around 227,000kms. I'm planning to rebuild this engine later on, but I was wondering how long do these motors last? I definitely want to rebuild the motor before it goes but I'm still reading and learning about them.

How much would it cost to rebuild my NA engine so it'll make around 190-200whp parts and labor? Is it possible to do this with a $4000-5000 budget?

Yeah, you can easily spend $4-5k if you go with all forged internals and sleeved block. But my build cost a little under $3k also.

Forgot to mention the budget is in Canadian dollars so would it make a big difference?$4000-5000 seems like what it would cost where I live.. This is going to be my daily driver and don't want it to idle to be like a race motor. Also want something I can still run with 94 octane.

i think $4000 would be a pretty good price, but would highly depend on the quality of the work at the end

Just FYI, the Canadian dollar is stronger than the US dollar currently, so $4000CDN = $4300 US, or something vaguely like that.

Swapping a low-mileage engine from hmotorsonline would be more economical if all you want is a dd motor, and if it's going to cost that much to rebuild.

I'm currently gathering parts for my 94 gsr rebuild and from my cost report its going to be around $1200 for all brand new oem parts and machining. So to the OP yes its very possible and more with that budget. I could post up my spreadsheet with parts and prices.

I still have to add some parts to the list but that generally a full rebuild right there.

Are you doing all the labor yourself?
