Just want to know if anyone has carbon fiber exhaust shields on their ap2. If so I would like to see some pics and how they were installed. My frind has them and he wants to know if he has to bore holes in his bumper to mount them. Thanks for any help.

I think I know what the OP is referring to.
They could be 2 small curved pieces of carbon fiber that fit in the cutouts of the rear bumper where the exhaust tips are.
I know i've seen them somewhere; just can't recall where.

eh, they are alright in the looks department.
I just wonder how they actually attach. I see some silver rivets and wonder if you actually have to rivet it through the bumper like that or if they stick on or who knows what.

3M is usually pretty strong stuff, but I don't know that I could trust it for something like that.
I kinda like the way those look though.

or it's more of a style thing?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Lets say you have no test pipe...after a while you get carbon buildup in the form of a soot like substance that sticks on the back of your bumper. If you don't clean it regularly, it becomes almost permanent. I guess this is to prevent that.

Yeah thats it. I guess the best way is to drill holes. Do you guys know how double side tape responds to heat? Its an 06 S2000 and my bud dosen't want to drill into the body.

I guess you weren't making enough power or something...
Every turbo car i've been around that makes decent power has had some form of carbon/soot on the rear bumper
