I think they work better on heavier cars? My friend used some SP5000 on his Legacy wagon in autocross before, not too bad in dry.

Yes, I have and I just bought another set. I have been very pleased with the performance on my ITR. I have a 2000 with 40K miles, lowered with comptech springs. I have 16x8 SSR Integral rims for street use and I don't know of a better all around tire available. I have owned a supercharged Civic, and a Del Sol as well and have gone through several sets of tires including Dunlop SP8000s (a great tire they no longer make in a 205/45/16), Dunlop SP9000s (comparable to the 8000s but wear a little better, ride a little better and make less noise), Yoko AVS Intermediate (good tire but noisey and did not last very long), Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 (nearly as sticky as the Dunlops and definitely a better price - maybe longer tread life also). The stickiest (non competition tire) I have found is the Mich Pilot MXX3 (unfortunatly no longer available in 205/45/16 - but also very expensive and they do not stay sticky very long). Anyway, you can't go wrong with the SP9000. I would recommend them highly. I hope this helps.

Bridgestone RE730's are better IMO. ANd I DO have Sp9k's on my R right now. Good tire not as good at the 730 in dry and no better in wet.

I did not like them at all in dry surface. In rainy day, they are good. Don't waste your money on them. Buy Falken azenis or dunlop Fm901.

i tried both the SP 9000 and Azenis, the Azenis have better dry traction hand down, but the SP 9000 is very good in the rain!!

I wish they made the FM901 in 205/50/15 size.

I also wished I had a 15x7 rim, but that a whole different can of worms

the reason i get SP 9000 is because i will drive the car whole year so i don't really need the tire like Azenis unless i have another set of rims then i will get Azenis

Then why you need to ask? You already brought the tire, just try it out yourself and you will know if you like it or not.
