ive got a 00 civic with d16 y8 head and a z6 block. today i removed my intake manifold to replace the manifold gasket. i put it back together and it wouldnt start.
so i rechecked every thing i took off and it was all good. i pulled my plugs and they were all wet with coolant.so i ripped off my head to check the head gasket only to find nothing wrong. so i cleaned out the cylinders and put every thing back together only to have the same thing happen again!!!!!WTF???? any body got any suggestions please lmk!!!!! thanks

 

unless the headgasket is bad or head is not torqued i dont know how coolant can get in there. Are you sure it wasnt gas, and you have no fire or your timing is off that bad?

 

i retorqued the head after i put it back on. it wasnt gas cause it was green!! i got it to fire but ran like **** and white smoke poured out the exhaust giving me a reason to pull the head!!!

 

does it start tho or doesnt start at all?

 

deff a gasket issue, did you have your head milled or anything prior to putting this new one on? Head/block may need cleaned for the surfaces to mate right, and in a worse case the head could have warpage, but idk since it wasnt doing this before. Head/block probably need cleaned.

 

but it wasnt doing it prior to today!! had the car running for a month already!!! im stumped??
