id have to go int he garage and look at my head tomarrow or latter tonight i might go out there. its a 99 ctr head and i believe it was pr3-3 its at least got a ctr intake manifold on it.
Casting number cannot determine what vehicle the head came off of.
I've seen ITR heads (same as CTR) with casting numbers PR3-1,2,3,4
The only external verification is green paint located by the distributor, which you cannot see in the crappy pics the seller provides.

ITR/CTR valves are dished, just like every other B-series valve.

When i get the head if it is a type r the valve springs should be much stiffer than for example a b16a spring. If i take one of the valve springs out and take it to my machine shop and have him pressure test it what should it be thank you
If it's a Civic Type-R head, it should have DUAL valve springs, inner and outer on each valve, for both the Intake and the Exhaust cam.
*edit*
All B-series vtec engines have Dual Intake valve springs, but only Type-R motors come with Dual Exhaust/Intake valves from factory.

That's only going to prove that it still could be a b16a head with type R springs installed on it. Look for the green paint near the distributor location on the head. If you don't see any paint you could always pull a valve out and look for the factory porting that was done in the valve throat area. Only factory Type R/ CTR heads had this.
