Default DOHC swap or fully built D16?

I'm moving up from a boosted Y8 with stock internals. Should I swap out my single cam or should I build my D series? Either engine is still going to be turbo.

if you have the single and all the stuff and all you need to do is boost it id say do that. building up a ls bottom end is also a solid idea and pretty easy on the pocket book not to mention if your going for a more race stylee engine the ls vtec. do whatever you will like most.

Be a man, stick with one cam.

On the flipside, dump the Y8, the D16Y series blew, get a new Z6 or D15B in there and build that.

well if you are lookin for a DD then i say DOHC NA, and dont worry about the problems, but since you are going turbo i say stick with ur motor,it will be less of a hassle.plus if you plan to run any circuits.if you stick with the sohc turbo, there are less restrictions as to what you can do to your car which is cool.

there are ways around the bad oil pump

get some vitaras, eagle rods, and some arp headstuds, you can easily push 20+psi all day

i've been runnin my Y8 for almost a year now and it's been pushed hard through 4 nites at our local 1/4 strip in which i ran 2-3 races a nite with only between a 10 to 30 minute cool down period. all i have done is what's in my sig and i'm running a set of ARP head studs on a stock bottom end. but yeah i've also been told the Y8 is the worst single cam to boost, but so far it's holding up with the beating i'm giving to it
