What kind of hose or sleeve is this?

In this image we have a typical multi-carb setup, but I would like to know what kind of tube/sleeve is being used to connect the carbs to the intake runner flanges. I see that aircraft hose clamps fasten this sleeve to the carbs and intake runners. I am assuming the carbs came off of a motorcycle. It almost looks like a factory intake manifold was modified and used, but I can't verify this. So here are my questions neatly laid out:
1) What kind of sleeves/tubes are being used?
2) Will the carbs be rigid enough when using this sleeve by itself, or should extra bracing be used to support the carbs?
Let me know.

Cool. I would have thought regular radiator hose would flex a bit too much.

i would have to assume its some type of XX-ply silicon coupler. i almost sure 4ply(not sure on the "ply") black silicone "lengths" can be purchased at places like napa
It looks similar to the hose we use on fuel fills for race boats. Fuel resistent and has a wire lining for strength and would be pretty stiff in that length. You can order it in all types of diameters and its resistent to fuel and heat. Try looking for Goodyear fuel fill hose.

I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I don't think its regular radiator hose, I'm pretty sure it would not work in that situation with out collapsing.

believe it or not I use to get this material at Napa. It was cut to length hose, I use to get it in 2.5" and I used it for piping couplers. It is very stiff in short lengths. Alot of large contruction equipment use it. CAT uses it for radiator hose on their tractors.
