The only difference between the ls and gsr models is the Vtec oil. Just go to the Honda or Acura dealership and be ready to spend 40$ a quart. Well worth it if you ask me.

-If your gonna built an LSVTEC be ready to spend some money. First, this is what u need: Get a block, a LS block, then you are gonna need a head, obviously, so get a vtec head (I like GSR heads, i have a ls vtec with a gsr head), you are gonna need a LS head gasket otherwise you are gonna have to bore out the GSR head gasket (unless u chose a b16 head then ur dealing with a b16 head gasket), you will also need the GOLDEN EAGLE LSVTEC KIT, you will have to drill into your head for the fitting you will need a GSR water pump, all new gaskets, WALBRO 255 fuel pump, and then whatever else may come up that needs to be changed out. Once thats all done you are gonna have to do MAJOR ECU work, meaning just slapping on a GSR ECU on a GSR LSVTEC will not run good. The fuel levels are totally different because HONDA never made a ECU for an LSVTEC; what i have found best is to use a GSR base map and then get a full street tune and then a dyno run following that.

You should of stuck with saying LS hg for both..

Why .. ? If you told him to buy a hg, then why would he also need the "kit"?
At the most, he might need the different dowel pins, oil lines are easy enough to get separately.

Did you miss a comma/period, or something?
Why would you drill into the head for the waterpump?
Maybe the plug to block the old oil port to the Original LS head.
Either way, if you don't have a properly built engine, you won't be revving over 7k daily,
so you also wouldn't necessarily need the gsr water pump.
Oh, and did you mention the need for a different timing belt for that gsr water pump?

Unless he's shooting for high hp, something else that wouldn't be needed.
Surprised you didn't mention anything about a different oil pump.

I'm not going to get into this, but to say the least, Major if being over used a little.

EY no need to chew my *** out im tryin to set him in the right position. For the drilling yes its for the oil line not the water pump. Don't start bashin on my writin i was in a hurry when i typed it up. I did need a walbro 255 he may not but i'd put it in anyway unless u know exactly how much **** the first fuel pump went through (mileage and whatnot). My compression is 240 through all cylinders so i have 450 cc injectors and a walbro fuel pump that was fully tuned so for me i had to get the 255, i just suggest he gets it and replaces the old pump. Fuel pump should be changed eitherway, the dealership wanted to sell me a OE for $140 i got my 255 off ebay with overnight shipping for $115, why not go cheaper and better at the same time?
