Default auto tranny question...98 work in a 93???

will a auto 98 civic tranny work in a auto 93 civic?? the 98 auto tranny has other solenoids on the bottom front of the tranny and the 93 one doesnt. does anyone know if it will run right without using the solenoids on the bottom front? i think its for the auto downshifting..
thanks

I dont' know, I thought 5th and 6th gen auto trans stuff wasn't interchangeable, but I'd be lying if I said I knew anything about that for sure.

I'm going to PM somebody who would know for you.

As far as I know NO it will not work. A customer that I had thought he could put a 95 auto tranns into his 96 and it did not work.

96+ has 1 linkage and the rest is electronicaly controlled. pre 95 has the cable running from the tb to the trans to control it
