I have a friend.. with a gsr swap civic.. and everytime he hits vtec.. we smell a rubber smell.. cant really tell where its coming from.. sometimes we thinik exhaust but then sometimes we smell it near the engine.. and it cant be because we are smoking the tires or whatever.. has anyone ever heard of this or had this?

my friend has a b16 hatch and everytime he hits vtec we smell some odd smell its more like a bad cat smell but there is a smell i think thats just how it is if you dont use it a lot

 

is it possible that his clutch is slipping and burning a bit?

that's the only thing i can think of unless theres oil getting on the exhaust..
