Default EG h22---------->h2b

Hey everybody, i have an h22 eg. My question is, what would the conversion consist of to change my car from an h22 to an h2b. Now i know about all of the necessary things that are required to purchase, but is it possible considering that the shifter box that was installed with the the original h22 and the floor board was cut up? Also, with an h22 swap, is anything else altered permanetly? Thanks in advance for your input.

I wish I would of known about the h2b 3 years ago when I went h22 it would of save me alot of stress and hassle. I had to rip out my original tranny mount bracket and reweld a new one cause of the mounts I was using, when I had the original h22............ also I was lucky that I could still bolt up the shift linkage to the floor board but still left a hole around it which was later welded.

besides rewelding the trans mount, i have seen some people have to reweld some of the floor board that they previously cut out and i have also seen some people not have to . Depends on how much you originally cut i guess.

Is it worth it?

I don't think it is unless youre competing with your car.

Well, as of now, i have no problems with my m2b4 transmission, but unfortunately m2b4 trannys dont work with the aftermarket final drives, and i am sick of the stock gear ratios. I dont know whether it is smart to buy an new h22 transmission (non lsd) and get a final drive ratio installed, or keep my tranny i have in it now, and still have a limited slip.

What is altered witht he tranny mount when doing an h22?
