chances are you didn't connect the 2 thick wires that were running to the auto shifter (common mistake).

you want to connect the green wire with the black/white and black/red wire. after doing this yur car should start with no problems.

i already conected the big 2 wires and blk/blu wires together. and i noticed when i lpugd up the ecu that there was a extra plug that goes into the ecu. but all the slots were taken by the engine harness..

what to mean extra slots? there are 3 clips that go into the ecu, that's it, there are no other slots.

when doing a auto > manual swap you don't change anything on the floor harness or ecu, unless you are wiring for vtec.

man, i really have no clue to what you are talking about. you don't have to touch any harness or ecu. unless you have some pics to post up with your question, i'm clueless. the 3 wires that you are talking, are those the wires you ran for vtec?

actually, lets back this up a bit. what year civic are you working on and the motor?
year of the motor too if possible.

k ill start from the beigging. i have a 00 DX hatch with 97HX fullll swap. converted from auto- manual. i did all the wiring already needed to do for the swap. so my problem is. the wires i ran through the firewall. which is the engine harness has 3 plugs on there that go into the ECU (p2n) and the green wires that hook up to each other are pluged. but there is one more plug just hanging there. it is gray. and it fits in slot A of the ECU but there is already the a plug in there from the harness.. get me?

why didn't you just swap out tranny's instead?
please be patient with me as i try to understand what you are doing. now, i'm not sure how identical the HX and DX motors are, i do know the HX is mainly for more fuel saving. i also know it has the odd throttle body, not sure if the sensors work and hook up the same.

now, you should never had to run any wires are harness, from what i am thinking, it should have plugged up with no problems. now, yes there is going to be a clip in slot A of the harness because this is where you DX harness is running too.

hmmm...OK, then all you had to do was just take the harness off of the DX motor and add it to the HX motor (if it did not have a harness). unfortuantely i do not understand what you are mentioning about a grey wire and 3 wires running to the ecu.

maybe it's because i'm too tired. i've been up 24 hours (it's time to go to bed) and came on here to relax, which it worked. sorry i couldn't be much help, but if you still haven't figured out tomorrow, i'll do some reasearch.

sorry...
