Default NEX coilovers? Does anybody have or recommend?

I found some new coilovers on Ebay for around $650. Is this too good to be true? I don't know anyone with this setup but I figured this is the place for a census. I am looking for some 17" wheels as well, if that makes any difference.

You can get "name" brand coilovers on ebay for that price. I've personally never heard of them. I bought my Ksports for 525 shipped new off ebay.

it all depends on what damper you going to pair up with,
it ranges from 15% stiffer to infinity

some of the softer/oem feel spring are tein, eibach

some of the hard **** spring: ASD, kgmm, gc

Some guy with an Subaru Sti had me install a set of nex.

Now I handled and install over 500 set of different coilovers and you get what you pay for...

I've read horror stories on s2ki about NEX coilovers. I'd stay away personally. I bought Megan Track, they are the same coilover as the apexi. Very nice item!

You obviously have no idea how to read. I said i had them on my civic and they were great. i wouldnt put them on my s2000. I have buddyclub N+. But i would much rather have nex's on an s2 than any drop spring with stock struts. Thank you for the o so friendly quote.

hahahahhahahahahahhaha

there's a big rumor about they are being made in the same manufacturing plant.

even the rumor is true, it doesn't meant anything, all the spec, part, torrence, raw material and process are the same? if you can't answer this, you don't even have half a case for argument. even if they made them in the same plant it doesn't means anything, i been to mold injection plant that mades 5 dollar flash light next to military spec hard case. saying they are the same is not different than saying all honda are equal

why is it so hard to get the concept of you get what you paid for? if they can sell you something half of what the other guy is paying, where did that money go?
customer service? warranty, shitty part?, completely worthless RD?, engineering?
you don't just get something out of nothing.

I dont remember seeing either of your S2000's in the dumped thread. I would get an S2000 before commenting on coilovers for a car you dont have . If you do have one lets see them and what coilovers you have. Thanks kids. Just remember i made a comment to someone else, and you were rude. Have a nice day.

Because it's not always true. In fact, with coilovers, it rarely is. People just don't know enough about them to know what they are getting, and what they are paying for. It causes some companies to overcharge for what they are selling, and some are greedier than others.

You do get what you pay for.

Driving school + $500 coilovers > $1,500 coilovers and being a hardparker

My point is most people here have 0 track days under their belt, and aren't really that great of drivers, myself included.

Unless you have some serious track time under your belt, you probably can't drive any better on $1,500 coilovers than you can on even stock springs.

I feel like if you just want to lower your car and have stiffer spring rates the coilovers you find on ebay will probably work fine. Most people spend thousands of dollars on suspension but won't pay $300-$500 for a weekend at the track to improve their skills.

My $.02
