Default Thought i'd share some helpful information. Found a true 3'' intake

After searching around for a few days i was getting kindof pissed i couldn't find the correct length or even the correct width intake i needed for my bpi stack or even to mate to my TB.

Search is over, autozone who was even nice enough to let me remove the intake out of the package and measure completely ends up carrying a true 3'' intake piping.
The ORIGINAL intake kit, is 15'' long with a 2 inch bend and a connector of 3'' to mount to your tb.. they even sell the add-ons which are pretty cool, their in about 3.5'' intervals and have str8 and bends, i ended up picking up two extra str8 extentions. But i wanted to share, total cost wasn't what i liked but i guess when your searching for a good piece and correct measurements money doesn't matter. total cost came out to around 65 bucks for the intake, and the two extentions.

i have the same setup on my daily driver... got that kit with a few straits and bends...even the pep boys velocity stack..turned it into a cold air.. picked up about 15hp 12trq at 4-4.5k rpm...lost about 4-5 from 5-6k....picked up 6-7hp from 7k up.. intake ended up costing me around $75.. this was compared to an aem short ram and a whale *****

i'll load up a graph later today..

LOL @ this entire thread.

there are plenty of true 3" intake's out there.

unless you dyno that thing and it makes 50 more HP than the others, i'd have to say that this thread is worthless.

the way i look at this intake, its more of a test mule. figure out the length you want, and make it on a single piece of piping.

maybe.. but you go search for a 3'' intake pipping for sale on here bro. you wont find anything hardly, and i just finished googling kindof hard to find it as well..
I'd say this i just wanted to point it out there for others who have a hard time finding something and while this is kindof a "custom" standpoint u can make it as short or as long as u want it..for pretty cheap i guess.. the whole setup cost me what i said, each addon is around 8 bucks a pop..

ive ran dozens of different 3" intakes. i didnt even have to "SEARCH". they were all easy to find.

yes, true 3" inside diameter. http://search.ebay.com/search/...gory0=

$8 for a piece of 6" long tubing? OUCH.

if you are only extending the pipe. (like out of the headlight or something) you can get a foot of 3" diameter tubing at an exhaust shop for about $5.

I bought my 3" piping off ebay, and i have to say it's more cosmetically pleasing then the one posted. It is tuned to length aswell.
