Default Koni, removal of the circlip .. any tips ?

Just bought some Konis off of a friend and it came with coils wrapped around it. I want to remove the coils and move it down to the bottom perch. Any tips/techniques of how to get the circlips off ? I've heard of needle nose pliers, but those are too fat to reach in the area were the circlip sits.

I just push out on one end of the clip with a small flat head screwdriver, then work the clip out the rest of the way around the shock body, then move it to the desired location. It's really quite easy.

Remember that the KONI lowering grooves are meant for use with stock springs to lower the car normally about an inch. If you use the lowering grooves with lowering springs you will get the cumulative lowering effect of both which risks you at too low ride height with too soft a spring rate for that height. This more easily opens the door for bottoming the shocks internally if you don't have lots of bump rubber present. All it takes is one good sized road impact and it is possible to bottom and destroy the shock. You make the call but know the potential consequences.
